My first responsibility there was proofreading the back matter of books: checking the form and alphabetization of indexes, making sure that the "Notes to pages 234-245" tags cited the right pages.
It needs the leading institutions of American Jewry to encourage broad discussion rather than, as Peter Beinart put it in an important recent essay in The New York Review of Books, checking "their liberalism at Zionism's door".
So I encouraged them to do even more, explaining that I used to go to the library when I was their age and brought home a stack of books, checking them off a list as I finished them.
But everything is a priority to me, whether returning a not-so-critical phone call, promoting my own books, editing my blogging interviews, developing my coaching practice, applying to give my workshop at Chicago locations, reading psychology and self-help books, checking my social media stats, researching an interesting concept for Coach's Corner, you name it.
