We analyzed a 2400 μm lateral section of the cortical bone centered about the midshaft of the femur.
The skull over the left primary somatosensory whisker representation was exposed and an approximately 3 × 3-mm area of bone centered at 2.5 mm posterior to and 5 mm lateral to bregma was thinned until it was transparent when covered with saline solution.

The patients were diagnosed at the Hematology/Oncology Centers of some hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Bone Marrow Transplantation Center (CEMO-INCA), Hematology Service (INCA), Arthur Siqueira Cavalcanti Hematology Institute (HEMORIO), and Martagão Gesteira Pediatric and Puericulture Institute (IPPMG).
Cases were collected from three transplantation centers: 1) Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center, Boston, USA; 2) Hadassah University Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel; and 3) Bone Marrow Transplant Center, State University of Campinas, Campinas, Brazil.
There were also serious problems like "Help, I want to save a life," that provided registration kits from the bone marrow donor center DKMS.
"It has a good survival rate and it's the next best thing" to a marrow transplant, said Katharina Harf, a co-founder and executive vice president of DKMS Americas, a bone marrow donor center.
