To the Editor: While Lake Sakakawea may be boating's best secret ("Under Sail, Under Wraps," Sept. 22), the lake has another secret that was not revealed in your story: the manmade reservoir covers the native homelands of Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara families who were literally flooded out of their homes in the 1950's with the approval of Congress.
Lodges and meals are usually under $300 a night, and prices for guided trekking or boating trips are generally under a $100 per person per day.
