Each group of log2L bits is encoded into an L-PPM waveform pi(t), i = 1,…,L, of duration T. Each pi(t) includes one 'chip' of unit amplitude and duration L/T, in addition to L - 1 chips of zero amplitude.
In the proposed algorithm, the rule-table of a fuzzy system is first divided into several independent and much smaller fuzzy systems, which in turn are encoded into separate bit strings for genetic operations.
Since each information bit is encoded into two symbols with bits individually, a total of bits will be required for the encoding process.
