Functional GO categories (for Biological Process) were further identified for DE genes using ErmineJ v. 3.0 [ 176], which classifies genes by GO category, identifies categories with many 'multifunctional' genes (which may be involved in many processes other than that specified by the current GO term), and determines if a category is 'enriched' for DE genes.
