In this progress, signal recognition particle (SRP) plays an essential role in binding to the signal sequence of the nascent polypeptide emerging from the ribosome and directing the polypeptide toward the proper cellular compartment (Keenan et al. 2001; Halic et al. 2004).
The contribution of GTP binding to the signal is negligible (<5%) at concentrations up to ~800 μM, but can be corrected by appropriate calibrations if high accuracy or higher concentrations of GTP are needed.
The most likely explanation is that SPP is in close proximity to the translocation site in the ER membrane and optimally placed to compete with signal peptidase for binding to the signal sequence in the newly synthesized preprotein.

IGFBP-3 is expressed by most tissues of the body and as an antagonist of IGF binding to the signal-transducing type 1 IGF receptor (IGF1R), it blocks the proliferative and cell-survival effects elicited by its activation [ 3].
Therefore, it remains a challenge to link ApoSense binding to the signalling cascades in apoptosis signalling.
One study has found that ANP32A binding to the signalling lipid molecule, sphingosine, abrogates its PP2A interaction, suggesting a physiological regulation of this activity 75.
Npl3 was observed to compete strongly for binding to the polyA signal (Figure 4A).
Rna15 was not phosphorylated by Cka1, nor was binding to the polyA signal affected in reactions with Cka1 lacking Npl3 (data not shown).
After synthesis of the receptor's N-tail in cytoplasm, an SP stops the translation ('elongation arrest') by binding to the SRP (signal recognition particle) [ 7, 8].
Taken together, these data suggest that autoantibodies specific for the SRP54G domain (serum 19-1) and the SRP54N/G boundary (serum 25-1) block SRP binding to the PPL signal sequence in vitro.
In murine cells this effect is mediated by the MCMV protein M27, which prevents signaling through the IFN-γ receptor (IFNGR) by binding to the cellular signalling intermediate STAT2 (previously thought to transduce only signals through the interferon-α receptor (IFNAR)) [31].

Since I tried Ludwig back in 2017, I have been constantly using it in both editing and translation. Ever since, I suggest it to my translators at ProSciEditing.
