This more restricted binding pattern could be due to the activity of other chromatin-binding modules, including the N-terminal AT hooks of MLL1 which have been demonstrated to bind AT-rich regions of DNA [ 67] and a PHD finger (PHD3) which may recognize specific histone methylation marks [ 68– 71].

Our expectation was that changes in SH2 binding patterns could be correlated with biological responses to inhibitors, and that probes for which binding decreased strongly in TKI-inhibited cells were likely to represent key pathways for TKI action.
To support these microanalytical findings, we investigated whether a subset of these binding patterns could be confirmed using the more time- and sample-exhaustive method associated with coupled immunoprecipitation and lectin blot analysis.
An alternate explanation for the bimodal peak pattern could be slow binding kinetics of peptide 2 (slow kon), a phenomenon that has been observed previously.
This pattern could be detected by measuring the oesophageal pressure.
However, no underlying pattern could be found.
No group-specific pattern could be found.
Again no pattern could be detected.
This result indicates that interaction patterns could be utilized to improve existing blind geometrical predictions of binding sites.
Although in most of the following cases we focused on the analysis of ligand-binding sites, it should be noted that many other pairs of 3D patterns could be studied.
Changing weather and climate patterns could be partly to blame.
