The MAF enables the application of pure compression or high compression to shear bidirectional loading conditions that is not possible with conventional Arcan fixtures.
Unidirectional and bidirectional flow conditions can be commonly observed in corridors, stairs and bottlenecks of pedestrian facilities such as transport terminals, shopping malls etc. Crossing can be observed especially at junctions of transfer stations.
