Discharge across the boundary between two cells is calculated if the ground height in the dry cell is lower than the water level in the submerged cell; otherwise, the discharge is considered to be zero (Imamura, 1996).
Our approach reflects an attempt to balance this discrepancy by assuming that even if multiple DEM contacts exist between two cells, the electrical flow between them is divided equally amongst these contacts.
