To better display the abovementioned time-dependent variation discipline of AgNPs-DMF in the TLC-SERS detection, the relationship between time and relative intensity (peaks at 865 and 798 cm−1 for example) is displayed in Fig. 4b.

The seven groups of AgNPs were employed in the TLC-SERS detection of the GLC sample spots; the relationship between time and relative intensity of peaks 798 cm−1 was displayed in Additional file 1: Figure S5.
Location is determined by comparing the difference between the time and intensity of vibration at one sensor with the time and intensity at another.
The relationship between time and the relative intensity of peaks at 865 cm−1 from DMF and 798 cm−1 from GLC presented that all the three groups tended to be stable at around the 15th minute, which indicated that the abovementioned variation discipline would not be influenced by AgNP concentration.
However, there was no difference across sites (ipsilateral, contralateral, SMA) and no interaction between time and site for either intensity.
Seven questions referred to possible aspects of methodological quality like unblinding, four questions were about time and intensity of contacts between the nursing staff, researchers and patients, and eleven questions referred to the attitude of the principal investigators towards the study, the study result and their expectations during the study.
