The correlation coefficient between the three indicators was low.
Concerning investments into ALMP, rehabilitative services and income maintenance, we observe some convergence between the three indicators within single countries or among groups of countries with similar social and labour policies (e.g. high ALMP expenditures in Scandinavian countries, low expenditures in England and the USA).
This is due to the fact that the correlation between the three indicators is non-stationary and varies in the study area, as shows the Monte Carlo tests used to evaluate whether local eigenvalues from GWPCA vary significantly across space (Fig. 4).
While none of the studies indicated a significant association between all the three indicators of nutritional status i.e. weight-for-age (WAZ), weight-for-length (WLZ) and length-for-age (LAZ), most investigators have found an association with LAZ [ 6, 7, 13, 15, 16].
