In contrast, no significant heterogeneity of sporozoite rate could be detected between the sampling clusters (numerator d.f. = 21, denominator d.f. = 6.17, F = 0.50, P = 0.892 and numerator d.f. = 25, denominator d.f. = 0, F = 0.001, P not estimable, for An gambiae and An. funestus, respectively).
Then, the correspondence between the sample-clusters of the user's microarray and the matching microarrays can be elucidated using the graphical interface (Fig. 1).
Welch's t test was performed to compare the mean T/R ratio between the samples in cluster A and those in cluster B at each 2756 probe loci of 979 cancer-related genes.
There was a shorter distance between sample clusters of spleen and kidney as opposed to that of liver.
However, because of the dependence (or clustering) between individual units sample, cluster RCTs require more participants to obtain the same statistical power and are more complex to design, execute, and analyse [ 74].
Hierarchical clustering of the total gene expression was performed using a distance matrix to assess the relationship between the samples and identify clusters amongst the time points.
A clearer picture of the differences between the samples in the clusters labelled with either no, mild or moderate necrosis of the centrilobular region of the rat liver was obtained by comparisons of Clusters 1, 2 and 3 using just the expression values of the 82 genes extracted from the prototypes.
However, this explanation also seems unlikely given the high average recapture rate in this study, which often led to individuals being sampled among different party associations, as well as the large distances between some sampling clusters sharing a haplotype.
(iii) Calculating the significance of difference between clinical indices among above two sample clusters.
It is a better strategy to find the molecular features associated the identified clusters or subtypes by molecular signature analysis: find the significantly differential features between the samples in that cluster and all the other samples (please see the heatmap of the selected molecular features of TCGA pan-cancer analysis in Additional file 1: Figure S3).
