Our portlet provides functionality to preregister experiments and their sample instances in openBIS.
A filter, being either univariate or multivariate, does not use a classifier within its selection scheme and takes only the intrinsic characteristics of sample instances into account in order to quantify the association between features and phenotypes.
Main Outcome Measure: Average angular displacement magnitude between successive sampling instances for the ankle, knee, hip, and trunk.
To carry out the data pre-processing, the algorithm first calculated the center of positive class instances, and then sample instance points along the line between the center and each positive class instance, in a similar style than SMOTE [28].

Next, for each instance point in the new positive class, the method first finds its k-nearest neighbors in negative class instances with MapReduce, and then sample instance points along the line between the instance and its k-nearest negative neighbors.
