In their study on the MRCP UK) clinical examinations McManus et al. found a positive association between examiner stringency and (a) the number of candidates examined, and (b) examiners from an ethnic minority [ 13].
In this study we did not find any relationship between examiner stringency and examiner personality factors.

As this was a small pilot study we recommend further studies in this field to investigate if there is a relationship between examiner stringency in clinical assessments and personality factors.
The candidates' logit scores can be converted back to scores on the same scale as that used by the examiners, and those marks can be adjusted for differences in examiner stringency and station difficulty (which FACETS calls 'fair marks' and we will call 'adjusted marks').
