The open-cell metal foam provides a typical mechanical feature for this study to determine the relationship between coefficients of density and porosity.
Addressing the scaffolds' microstructure, our results demonstrated that while the fibrous structure that characterizes natural cardiac ECM is preserved in all scaffolds, matrix density and porosity varied between the different scaffolds.
