In practice, a multi-emitter fitting model would allow one or more of several important quantities to be improved, which would result in a much better localization in cases where single frame active emitter densities are relatively high [ 15].
Namely, the Hermite functions provide better computational localization in both the spatial and the transform domain, in comparison with the trigonometric functions.
It has been shown that, in comparison with the trigonometric functions, the expansion into Hermite functions provides better computational localization in both the signal domain and the transform domain [11, 25].
The new method obtains similar or better localization results in our experiments while requiring only two-thirds of the number of image comparisons, indicating an overall speed-up by 25%.
Furthermore, in Fig. 4a, b, the Si nanoparticle dimer as semiconductor produces more image charges than SiO2, so the electric field enhancement of Si nanoparticle/graphene hybrid system is stronger and shows the better localization effect in the gap of particle-film.
However, Experiment 1 demonstrated that the better localization performance in random-context conditions came along with a better discrimination performance, which is evidence against the notion that observers notice the target relatively late in random-context conditions.
They offer superior spatial resolution and allow for a better localization of the electrical activity in both signal and source spaces.
When the signal size is large, the correct sample covariance matrix estimation leads to better localization performance shown in Figure 14.
