The hydrogen coverages for best HER performance in both individual and collective processes increase with the increment of tension.
The CNT content in the CoSe2/CNTs hybrids has been optimized and CoSe2/CNTs (14.7 wt%) exhibits the best HER performance.
The best HER activity of VS2 monolayer with a-ΔGH near zero (−0.007 eV) occurs at a hydrogen coverage of ( frac{5}{16} ) under ɛ = 2%%.
In addition, CoxSy/WS2/CC-3 exhibithethe best HER activity, smallest charge transfer resistance and excellent stability than the counterparts, implying that the degree of CoxSy-incorporating may impact the HER activity of WS2.
The VS2 monolayer under ɛ = 2 % shows best HER performance in individual process with d-ΔGH equal to −0.043 and −0.029 eV at the hydrogen coverages of ( frac{2}{16} ) and ( frac{3}{16} ), respectively (Fig. 2a).
Under ɛ = 6 %, the best HER performance occurs at the hydrogen coverages of ( frac{4}{16} ) and ( frac{5}{16} ) with d-ΔGH equal to 0.023 and 0.018 eV, respectively (Fig. 2a).
The as-synthesized MoP showed the best HER performance in acid medium with a low overpotential of 136 mV obtained at 10 mA cm−2, while Mo2C-C showed the lowest overpotential for HER in alkaline medium, and for MoS2-C, which exhibited few layers structure (less than three layers), exhibiting favorable catalytic performance in both acid and alkaline electrolytes.
It only requires a small overpotential of 109 and 133 mV at 10 mandm2, and 189 and 206 mV at 100 mA/cm2 in 0.5 M H2SO4 and 1.0 M KOH, respectively, which is the best HER catalyst ever reported among pure tungsten phosphide materials.
Recently, Pan reported that vanadium disulfide (VS2) monolayer shows the best HER performance in the considered systems and its catalytic activity depends on the hydrogen coverage during HER, which is reduced at high coverage due to the change of conductivity [19].
