Strong immunoreactivity was found in borderline tumours (mean score = 2.20) and in invasive tumours (mean score = 4.53), which showed a significant difference (p-value = 0.001) when compared with healthy and benign ovarian tissues that had a mean score of 0.56 and 1.00, respectively (Fig 1B and Supporting Information Fig S1).
KLK6 protein was expressed at low levels in normal and benign ovarian tissues.

Metastatic tumours to the ovary from primary gastrointestinal, endometrial, uterine, or breast cancers expressed low levels of KLK6 that were comparable with benign ovarian tissues.
