Tests of spontaneous behaviour (latency to jump up to or down from a 30 cm high platform) and physiology (thermography of the eye) did not detect any differences.
Overall, administration of butorphanol had no effect on the range and patterning of behavioural responses during LAPS, but there were some differences in behaviour latencies, counts and durations.
