Psychological treatments available locally for the collaborating Primary Care Trust (PCT) include health visitor listening visits, computerised cognitive behavioural therapy, face-to-face cognitive behavioural therapy, guided self-help, exercise and interpersonal psychotherapy/referral to a counsellor, psychologist or other mental health professional.
VET teachers in some countries are faced with an increasing scope of learning, social and behavioural problems faced by their younger students and the teachers often deal with the students' social, psychological and personal problems (Cort and Rolls 2010; Kats et al. 2010; Susimetsä 2010).
This model of care may also address the complex interplay between medical, psychosocial, and behavioural factors facing these patients and their caregivers [ 3].
Five randomised controlled trials compared computerised cognitive behavioural therapy with face to face treatment for depression or panic disorder and none showed significant differences between the treatments.
