In line with the current theoretical state of the art we hypothesised to find evidence for a so-called simple effect of threat, in that threat is positively associated to behaviour under high efficacy (but not under low efficacy), and evidence for a simple effect of efficacy in that efficacy is positively associated to behaviour under high threat (but not under low threat).
But such behaviour in the South China Sea infuriates China, which claims that freedom of navigation is not under threat.
The land and water resources are under threat from environmental pollution, including from anthropogenic activities by the low levels of hygiene behaviours (Al-Otaibi and Zaki 2012; Punmia and Jain 1998; Akujieze et al. 2003).
