One limitation of the study was that we had no information on duration of insulin pump treatment before study baseline, although our aim was to analyse outcomes from baseline during a long term follow-up period.
Interim analysis of the current study found that patients receiving >6 months of olanzapine LAI in the post-baseline period had significantly lower rates of psychiatric hospitalization than during the 6 months before study baseline (incidence: 8.3 % versus 32.6 %, respectively; P < 0.001), as well as reduced hospitalized days (mean [SD] days: 11.5 [23.8] versus 2.3 [14.3]; P < 0.001).
The co-morbidities were diagnosed typically years before the HRQoL-measure at study baseline, and thus could be considered as risk factors of poor HRQoL.
Our analyses were based on participants who worked at study baseline and had complete data on job strain, age, sex, socioeconomic position, body mass index (BMI), smoking, alcohol intake and asthma, and no history of asthma hospitalization before the study baseline or during the first 30 days of follow‐up (Table 1).
In all studies individuals with a diagnosis of cancer before the study baseline (n=2700) and those who with a diagnosis of cancer during the first year of follow-up (n=366) were excluded from the analyses to avoid reverse causality from symptoms of an undiagnosed cancer causing stress at work (see appendix 3, fig S1).
The analysis was restricted to women who provided information on consumption of tea, coffee, water, and soft drinks and had no cancer registered before the study baseline.
However, this is unlikely to cause a major bias in the results given that a similar pattern of insulin secretion-DepS association was observed after excluding DepS cases identified using the General Health Questionnaire over a 10-year period before the study baseline.
The number of DKA admissions was obtained from the treating hospital's information system for the 6-month window before study entry (baseline [T1]) and for the follow-up periods (baseline to 6 months [T2], 6 12 months [T3], 12 18 months [T4], and 18 24 months [T5]).
Each cost diary was filled out two months before treatment (to study baseline differences), during the three months of treatment, and at months 1 and 2, 5 and 6, and 11 and 12 after treatment.
We excluded from the analyses 4,080 (3%) participants with missing values for sex, age, job strain, or diabetes and 3,067 (2%) with a diagnosis of diabetes before or at study baseline.
