Indeed, P. chabaudi-infected erythrocytes are reported to sequester in the lungs and liver of mice but do not adhere to the mouse brain, which is the cause of cerebral malaria in P. falciparum infections in humans.

The studies in this report confirm the association between E-cadherin and β-catenin that is able to sequester beta-catenin in the cytoplasm which has been reported earlier in other tumor model systems [ 12, 13].
