As noted in table 2, the patients from the clinical trial whose skin biopsies were evaluated for the effects of HDIT/HCT on the microvasculature, all experienced improvement in clinical assessment of scleroderma (results of clinical trial have been previously published)[19], including activities of daily life, stamina, energy, and shortness of breath.
Previous versions of this model and applications to small regions or basins have been previously published and include Flint and Flint (2007, 2012a), Flint et al. (2011, 2012), and Micheli et al. (2012).
A description of the platform has been previously published [ 21] and included validation of 12 individual miRNA by qPCR, and on a more global scale, miRNA expression was validated using digital gene expression.

Demographic, diagnostic and clinical outcome data from this cohort have been previously published [ 12], although the present study now includes updated patient data comprising June 2005 to July 2013.
