Using two different sequencing platforms, a transcriptome database of B. edulis was established from plant material grown in tissue culture.
The first was established from plant material collected near Fogo in Berwickshire, UK (hereafter referred to as the "Oxford strain") and the second from plant material collected near Hirschbach, Germany (hereafter referred to as the "Bonn strain").
