The numerical results show that the combined heat and mass recovery cycle between two adsorbent beds can increase the coefficient of performance (COP) of an adsorption cooling system by more than 47% compared to the single bed cycle.

We then constructed the astronomical time scale of the bedded chert sequence by tuning ~20 beds cycle to 405 kyr eccentricity cycle of constant duration, and conducted spectral analyses on the chert bed thickness time series to reconstruct temporal changes in the frequency and amplitude of ~2 Myr eccentricity cycle.

It was found that fast- and slow-mode liquid cyclic operation policies were not be able to decrease either the pressure drop or the specific deposit; however, with adjusting carefully the parameters of liquid cyclic operation it would be possible to prolong the trickle-bed cycle life.
