"I have eliminated refined sugar from my diet and eat as little as I possibly can," Thompson told me, "because I believe ultimately it's something I can do to decrease my risk of cancer".
"Because I think ultimately even if you disagree, you have to respect the fact that their conscience is as strong as yours is about this, and they're the ones that are most affected by it," he said.
"I have just been offered a role in a big movie with a director that I've worked with before and I just couldn't do it, because I felt ultimately, as flattered as I was to do this big European film, I couldn't do it because of the way it portrayed women.
I studied history along with computer science, because I knew ultimately I was going to work with computers and I wanted to learn something else, too.
In retrospect, Prather views her 4-year venture into industry as a calculated risk, because "I was ultimately interested in an academic career," she says.
