It is found that the stability of certain beam modes can be improved by providing the beam with appropriately spaced steps.
Combining the mechanical properties, experimental phenomena and strain development, beam hinge failure mode can be identified for all specimens.
Comparisons between the predictions of the numerical model and test results show a very good agreement indicating that the ultimate load, the beam behavior and the failure mode can be closely predicted by using the proposed model.
To verify the CARS resonance, we detuned the wavelength of the Stokes beam from the resonant wavelength to record a sequence of wide-field CARS images as shown in Fig. 2. Figure 2(b) shows the CARS image when the frequency of the Stokes beam was tuned so that the 2913 cm−1 Raman vibrational mode can be resonantly excited.
It is found that the beam qualities of transverse modes can be optimized with the production of thermal load.
By means of a continuous beam computer program, these longitudinal modes can be computeda priori.
By performing end-coupling measurements and using the beam propagation method (BPM) for the analysis of the observed modes, it can be concluded that the modes can be confined inside the waveguide.

It is demonstrated that the AF which is well-correlated with the numerical undamaged mode of beam can be obtained at the DL after which the approximation energy ratio (Ea) drops significantly, if a suitable wavelet having sufficient number of vanishing moments (NVM) is selected.
