A BLAST analysis revealed that in each case, neither the primers nor the beacon shared significant homology with any known nucleotide sequences other than the target gene.
Beacon, which shared details about member purchases as part of the news feed, stopped accepting new marketers last fall after an outcry from users and privacy advocates.

But it is not clear that Google will have to change its rules or only approach those Beacon partners who share non-commercial messages.
The probes were TaqMan, conventional molecular beacon (MB), and shared-stem molecular beacon (ATssMB and GCssMB).
