Probabilistic sensitivity analysis highlights that nab-paclitaxel has a 0.99 probability to be cost-effective for a threshold value of €40,000 and is the optimal alternative from a threshold value of €16,316 onwards.
We observe that focusing on respectively 25, 20, 15, 5 and 1 % of the strictly positive values leads to a good fit, but that 10%% is the optimal alternative.
Authors' response: We applied ProtTest and found LG to be the optimal matrix; accordingly, two alternative trees were built using LG (Additional File 4 ).
Using this tool will not only expedite the design process, but also facilitate optimizing plate sizes, because various design alternatives can be easily investigated and the optimal alternative rationally selected.
Therefore the selection of the optimal alternative is more based on local conditions and preferences in that case.
