The Vbv model was better than the Cbv model because the number of earthquakes expected by the Vbv model was larger in the region where the M 5.7 aftershock occurred, because the estimated regional b-value was 0.50, which is smaller than the mean b-value (0.87), although the difference of expected numbers in the grid cell in the two models was very small (0.01/year).
Differential methylation was assessed by comparing the mean methylation level (b-value) of samples with the mean b-value of the corresponding adjacent tissue by using BeadStudio (San Diego, CA, USA) and Qlucore Omics Explorer 2.0 (Qlucore AB, Lund, Sweden) software.
The correlation between the GBLUP solution and the mean b values was 0.99 (in the full data set).
