The remaining patients (n = 100, 43%) were of intermediate risk.
In contrast, traditional risk classification based on clinicopathological criteria, such as suggested by the St Gallen recommendations from 2005 (Goldhirsch et al, 2006), classifies a majority of ER-positive, node-negative breast cancer patients as being of intermediate risk, with few patients in the low- or high-risk groups.
