Particular emphasis is given to mutations triggered by the presence of repeated sequences, instability events occurring during plasmid intracellular routing, instability mediated by insertion sequences and host genome integration.
Special consideration should be given to rare mutations (see point 7).
Hence, careful consideration must be given to private mutations in the design and analysis of sequencing-based association studies and in quantifying the role played by rare variants in complex human disease [ 15- 19].
It is therefore important that consideration be given to performing a study enrolling only mutation carriers aware of their status.
In C. trachomatis, no weight has usually been given to silent mutations that take place in ompA, although they were found to constitute 49.3% and 18.5% of all mutations observed in CDs and VDs, respectively, and some of them seem to be fixed worldwide within some genotypes (Figure 2).
A slightly different strategy was adopted in [ 49] for data integration: more weight is given to somatic mutations than gene expressions (i.e., k = 2 was used in the integrated model); a smaller threshold is selected to detect a bigger subnetwork in the optimization algorithm; and the statistical test for mutual exclusivity is also slightly different.
Numerous animal models have been generated to investigate HCM (Maass & Leinwand, 2000), and much focus has been given to an R403Q mutation in MYH7, which causes an especially severe clinical phenotype (Seidman & Seidman, 2011).
The paradigm shifting discovery that the genetic material is contained within a deoxyribonucleic acid led to many studies in the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s examining how organisms protect their DNA from endogenous and exogenous mutations, and a focus was given to ultraviolet induced mutations (reviewed in Ref. [ 4 ]).
I cannot shake the thought that this mutation was given to me for a reason.
Within this framework, particular attention has been given to determining how often resistance mutations arise in natural populations.
