As reported before, the O 1s peak can be fitted by three Gaussion peaks with different binding energy components [29].
In our work, the emission band centered at about 370 nm can be fitted by three emission Gaussian peaks shown in the inset in Fig. 9; these three peaks are located at 368 nm, 420 nm, and 457 nm, respectively.
For HfO2 embedded Ge NCs ('RF') device, the EL spectrum can be fitted by three Gaussian peaks (red dotted line) centered at 1.38, 1.61, and 1.82 eV and having FWHM of 0.15, 0.18, and 0.54 eV, respectively.
The O 1s peak of the Cu films was also analyzed to identify the Cu oxide phases, as shown in Fig. 8b, and could be fitted by three nearly Gaussian components (O1, O2, and O3).
This spectral region can be fitted by three Gaussian lines with a chemical shift of 153.0, 148.0 and 144.6 ppm.

As can be seen, all S 2p core level spectra can be fitted by two components.
The broad peak of O 1s can be fitted by two peaks at binding energies of 531.8 and 530.2 eV.
The broadband visible emission band is observed in the entire PL spectrum, which can be fitted by two main emission bands: one is in the blue light region, and the other is in the violet light one.
It is evident that the Al 2p for all of the samples can be fitted by two subpeaks located at 73.5 ± 0.1 and 74.6 ± 0.1 eV, corresponding to Al N and Al–O bonds, respectively.

The room temperature spectrum of sample 7 can be fitted by two six-line hyperfine patterns with the nearly the same isomer shift (0.29 and 0.37 mm/s) and hyperfine magnetic fields of 48.6 and 51.4.
