In order to investigate the different adsorption of mercury between MCM-41 and modified MCM-41, the batch experiments were carried out in 50 mL borosil conical flasks by agitating 0.01 g of MCM-41 and modified MCM-41 respectively with 10 mL of the aqueous mercury solution for 5 h at 303 K on a air-bath-mechanical shaker.
