The basis of the categorisation was the definition of social science provided in a recent report [ 18] which states, "[T]he relevance of these [social science] disciplines to public health and disease control is in... the applied areas of anthropology, demography, economics, human geography, psychology, politics, history, law, social policy, and sociology".
