For successful reintegration, the basic survival needs of trafficked survivors have to be ensured.
Addressing the issues discussed above will require improving communication between basic scientists, clinicians and the public; the reintegration of basic science education for medical and PhD students; creating more forums for interdisciplinary discussions; and more active engagement of research institutions in technology transfer and industry partnerships.
