To analyze patterns of variation in repeatability estimates, we used t tests, in which t values were calculated based on weighted means and weighted variances (where the weights are the years-specific sample sizes, i.e., the number of individuals, see Table 3).
All 2017 NDFD data here for alfalfa and grasses was based on weighted means over a 3 or 4-cut season (so higher yielding spring-cut forage counts more in the NDFD averages).
