Probe sets that were systematically absent (based on the MAS 5.0 detection present/absent call) across all the arrays were removed leaving 22,690 probe sets [ 47].
The signal intensity of the gene expression level was calculated using Expression Console Software, Version 1.1 (Affymetrix) based on the MAS 5.0 algorithm.
