To examine the extent to which the DAS28 (CRP) reflects structural damage and physical function, trends in radiographic progression and HAQ-DI scores across the EULAR responder states based on the DAS28 (CRP) and the DAS28 (ESR) were assessed, and trends based on the two DAS28 definitions were compared.
Table 4 and fig 2 show data from the ATTAIN and AIM trials, illustrating the mean improvements from baseline in HAQ-DI at 6 months in patients who were EULAR good, moderate or non-responders, based on the DAS28 (CRP) or DAS28 (ESR) definition.
Categories of disease activity based on the DAS28-CRP were defined as follows [ 32]: remission = DAS28-CRP <2.3, low = DAS28-CRP between 2.3 and 2.7, moderate = DAS28-CRP between 2.7 and 4.1, and high = DAS28-CRP >4.1.
However, on admission, 33% of the noninfected patients had CRP concentrations greater than 7.9 mg/dL, making it difficult to discriminate patients with and without infection based on this CRP measurement.
To this end, efficacy data in this study were analyzed from all animals and in a subset of animals with early onset of CRP based on the time the serum CRP reached 100 mg/L after immunization ('early CRP onset').
Power calculations based on the variability of the CRP data indicated a sample size of 7/group would be sufficient to detect a 20% difference in CRP and that a sample size of 9/group would be sufficient to detect a 20% difference in adiponectin.
Based on the available data, CRP-Is are certainly present in Mytilus spp. and appear to be absent in other mytiloids.
Before arthroplasty, the disease activity of each RA patient was evaluated using the 28-joint disease activity score based on CRP (DAS28-CRP) [ 15].
Based on the three subgroups of CRP (i.e., <1, 1 3, and >3 mg/L), there also was a graded association of CRP with both outcomes in men and with CVD mortality in women, with a significant high risk of all-cause mortality observed only within the upper strata of CRP (Supplementary Table 2).

At the mean percent body fat of 38.9%, the estimated CRP based on the adjusted model is 1.6 mg/L.
