Due to the specificity of medical healthcare field, most of the existing CDS methods retrieve biomedical articles based on concepts, including unigrams, bigrams and multi-word concepts.
Historical explanations for this extreme sensitivity to chemotherapy and the divergence in curability have been based on concepts including a higher growth rate for the curable cancers, the mutation of cells into drug resistant clones, the development of drug efflux pumps and the relationship of curable cancers to stem cells.
