In order to ease visualization of the structural features, the raw image was Fourier-transformed and filtered using a band pass with a window set for spatial frequencies between 1.6 and 40 nm−1, and a color threshold was then applied to reduce the contribution from pixels having a grey color lower than half of the mean image grey value.
