Adhesion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a nosocomial pathogenic bacterium, relies on several bacterial features, among which are bacterial appendages such as flagella and type IV pili.
Their bacterial features are summarized in Table 1.
Figure 1 presents the genome maps of Ca. K. crithidii and Ca. K. blastocrithidii, showing the typical bacterial features of GC skew and differential distribution of the protein-coding genes in the two chromosomal strands.
Before long however, doubts began to emerge on the thermophilic nature of the bacterial ancestor and Forterre [ 53] noted that certain bacterial features of thermoadaptation (particularly lipids) looked analogous, not homologous.
Also, even though quorum sensing is a central example in this paper, the hypothesis apparently does not rely on specific bacterial features, so it may be applicable to other communities and ensembles.
On the other hand, this finding can give us insight into why certain pneumococcal clones are more successful in their spread than others, besides bacterial features such as expression of adhesive pili as previously reported [ 7].

It has been hypothesized that EPS protects R. solanacearum from plant antimicrobial defenses by cloaking bacterial surface features from host recognition.
Our results indicate that the core promoter structures of some archaeal genes may possess a combination of eukaryotic- and bacterial-like features, and moreover, suggest a possible evolutionary relationship between basal transcription signals and transcription mechanisms of Archaea and the other two domains of life.
Both eukaryotic TBC-domain RabGAPs and the VirA/EspG family of bacterial RabGAPs feature an arginine and glutamine dual catalytic finger.
Different from GAPs for Rho and Ras families, both eukaryotic TBC GAPs and the VirA/EspG family of bacterial GAPs feature a catalytic glutamine finger in addition to the canonical arginine finger.
