The phrase 'backward for' is not correct or usable in written English
It sounds like it could be used to describe the direction of travel, but it is not a commonly used phrase in that sense. The correct phrase to describe moving in a backwards direction is 'backwards'. For example: I turned and ran backwards for a few steps.
