GoPro also makes several accessories that snap onto the back of the camera, called BacPacs.
Everything else is controlled via a 3.5-inch touch screen on the back of the camera.
"They love seeing their little image on the back of the camera.
Instead, it has a display screen that practically covers the entire back of the camera.
When it stops, you look at the back of the camera: there, INSTANTLY, is a perfectly knit, finished, seamless panorama.
"I remember it took a leap of faith for me to O.K. showing the back of the camera," he said.
Yet those shortcomings seem modest in comparison to the problems with the touchscreen display on the back of the camera.
With experience, users can compensate for this or they can use the LCD panel on the back of the camera which shows a "live" view from the sensor.
She made her way from the back of the camera to the front three years ago and is much praised for her fresh, friendly approach.
"The back of the camera is what people see when they take photos, it shows them the image they are capturing," Mr. Warren said.
