The phrase "axis of the frame" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts related to geometry, photography, or design, where the orientation or central line of a frame is being discussed.
Example: "To achieve the perfect composition, ensure that the subject is aligned with the axis of the frame."
Alternatives: "centerline of the frame" or "frame's axis".
