This paper proposes a new background thermal noise correction (BTNC) Methodology for better utilization of average infrared radiation temperature (AIRT) as a precursor for rock fracturing and failure under uniaxial loading.
However, parameters for long-term averages of solar radiation, temperature, humidity or even developmental stage were also selected.
The use of local averages improved the estimate of average summer maximum temperature from a regression r2 of 0.185 using elevation alone, to an r2 of 0.685 when using canopy cover, local average elevation and local average radiation.
Given the measured radiation temperature of 2.735 K, the energy density of the cosmic microwave background can be shown to be about 1,000 times smaller than the average rest-energy density of ordinary matter in the universe.
Such motion is not measured relative to the galaxies themselves (the Virgo galaxies have an average velocity of recession of about 1,000 km/s [600 miles/s] with respect to the Milky Way system) but relative to a local frame of reference in which the cosmic microwave background radiation would appear as a perfect Planck spectrum with a single radiation temperature.
