Total teaching costs in 2014 were £17.9m, with the average number of teaching staff during this period being 185.
The Education Ministry's statistical office estimates that, on average, 18 percent of teaching staff at universities will retire in the next few years, reaching as high as 36 percent in some faculties.
From 10 doctoral level programs, we calculated the average number of teaching staff per program as 12.3 (4).

The average number of years of teaching experience in Head Start for this group was 7 years (min = 2; max = 17; SD = 4); though many of these teachers had previous teaching experience outside of Head Start, which resulted in an average total number years of teaching experience of 11 years (min = 6; max = 23; SD = 5).
Under Labour's previous scheme, employers contributed, on average, about £3,000 to the cost of teaching the degree, with the rest provided by the state.
