The phrase "average of June" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when referring to the mean value of a specific measurement or data set collected during the month of June.
Example: "The average of June's temperatures was significantly higher than in previous years."
Alternatives: "mean for June" or "June's average".
The ONS last week published data for unemployment for the average of June to August, which it compared with the average of March to May and claimed that the number of unemployed rose by 10,000.
