As shown by the averaged values in Fig. 3, the timing constant, t2, appears to be most affected by retinal site: photoreceptor response times are nearly equal (t1) but there are fairly large average differences at the lowest frequencies.
One explanation for the VOL measurements, at least, could be that the larger biases were generally found for the smaller lesions, which had less influence on the average differences at the tumour burden level.
In contrast to that of smoking where the differences of methylation at cg05575921 between chronic smokers (~60%) and non-smokers (92%) can exceed 30%, the average differences at the more highly significant probes in the current study tend to be in the 5 to 10% range.
Next, looking at law units (which appeared to have average difference patterns at the academic area, Table 1), LAW_E (UP1, UP2, UP3, and UP5) and LAW_J (UP1 and UP2) that displayed significantly more frequent unusual patterns than expected.
The transgenic seedlings also flowered earlier than WT with an average difference of at least 2.5 days (Table 1).
Finally, we selected those CpG sites that reached an average difference of at least 10% between control and TGF-β conditions.
For example, β0 t) evaluated at t = 0, β0(0), would be the weight at birth for the average individual; similarly, β1 0) would be the average difference in weight at birth associated with a one-unit increase in X.
Modulation depth was calculated as the average difference between activity at pixels preferring 90 ± 15° and 0 ± 15° (time window 50 90 ms after switch).
The average difference in LD at distances up to 1 Mb was, however, less than 0.016 (i.e. 19.1% reduction in average LD when using the 600K SNP array), and the differences became smaller and more stable at larger distances.
Interestingly, in Arabidopsis we observe an average difference of 0.03 at intron-exon junctions when no correction is applied to the whole-genome bisulfite data generated in [ 47], and a correction with COMPARE reveals an average difference of 0.04 (Additional file 1: Fig. S6) (in Arabidopsis the YS effect is not as pronounced as in human because the majority of the genome is unmethylated).
Surprisingly, the average difference between the university at which the respondent was studying at or had graduated from, and the one they chose was just two places (the median difference was four).
